Artist James Turrell, best known for his ethereal, immersive light installations, is deeply rooted in his upbringing in the American West. That aspect of his oeuvre is no better evidenced than in his work with French crystal maker Lalique; the two masters of light have collaborated on two sculptural perfume bottles and accompanying fragrances that draw inspiration from Zane Grey’s novel Riders of the Purple Sage. Range Rider is a homage to Arizona, and thus incorporates a unique profile of sage-scratched leather and amber with a bright twist of citrus and pepper, complementing the deep, sunset-like hues of the handcrafted, limited-edition bottle.
